BLOG 8: YOUR IDEAL JOB

In my career there are different areas of specialization such as neonatology, puerperium, and childbirth, among others. First I liked the neonatology, but lately I have changed my decision and I think me especializare in childbirth, I love the thrill of receiving a new life, however, I would like to complement this with natural medicine, and also incorporate humanization of delivery.

My ideal work would be having a naturist center of pregnancy and help mother around the world. I always think this a really interesting way to change the vision of delivery and use natural medicine, such as water birth.

First I must finish my career and I have to learn about how I can make more natural the process. When I left university I think I have the skill to development any work so I don’t be worry to can’t make my ideal work. The difficult part of this history is to get money to open my center. To get money I have to work in something related with my carreer.

I like do it some magister and doctorate if it's possible in university of Chile because have a good reputation
I have the disposition and the effort to overcome any conflict.

BLOG 7: GRAMMAR REVIEW

Today, i will talk about my best friend, Vivi García. She is very very crazy, but very funny.

Vivi was born on august 25, 1986 in Santiago. She has one brother and one sister, his name is Sebastian and her name is Fabiola, her nickname is Fa, she is the smallest of the three brothers, and Seba is the oldest.
Vivi, loves his brother Sebastian, she tells “Sebacea”. They have approximately 1 years apart, for this, they have mutual friends and go party together, are very good friends.

When Fa was born, Viviana Catalina had lived 13 years. She too care of her sister and playing with her, Vivi taught tricks, so now Fa continues to make mischief, but now Vivi angry.

Vivi, studied at school “Santa Ursula”. She didn’t like her school, but she had good grades, she’s always been very intelligent.

When she finished the school, she started to study midwifery during one semester. In second semester she retired of career and began study in the preuniversitario “Gustavo Molina”, Vivi wanted to study Medicine.

The next year, Vivi started to study medicine in the university Diego Portales, was there 3 years, and finally she retired, and the next year 2009 Vivi returned to study midwifery in the University of Chile, in that place we met.

Vivi is a great person and great friend, I love her so much.

BLOG 6: EDUCATION AND PREVENTION

Teaching is: “acquisition of skills and operating procedures, which allow certain human faculties perfect”. I think that is very important that the people learn with the education and that the educator learn of people.

The health education has a wide variety of topics to educate the population, for example in my career, are educated about sexual education, disease prevention, care during pregnancy, lactation, and others.

But, who really need education?
I think that all people need education in some areas, but there are certain sectors where education should be strengthened and thus prevent conduct that could lead to a decision and action wrong. For example, based on studies conducted by different professionals, low-income adolescents are higher rates of pregnancy, and this are associated with the search for love and security that someone wants.

Sometimes, is very difficult achieve that the people go at educational talks, for example, due to time, for this, in the health services not give them drugs, or milk or others, if they don't go to talks. In my personal opinion, I disagree with this, but it really is a good strategy.

I would like to educate about the care of pregnancy, breastfeeding techniques, and all things related with pregnancy and baby, because I like it. However, if I work in sectors where people need sexual education, for example to prevent teenager pregnancy, that would be comfortable for me.

In 2006, Chile to implement the program “Chile crece contigo”, this program support and educates mothers during pregnancy and puerperium and also contributes to the development of children up to 4 years of age.

BLOG 5: GENDER ROLE IN HEALTH CARE

Today, i will talk about the differences between men and woman at work.
Some years ago the women did not go out to work outside their homes. The woman stayed at home attending to her husband, caring for their children and doing toilet, but did not worry much about her as a person.

But, that all changed. The woman now works and also cooperates with the household income, and man, sometimes cooperating with household chores.

Although the women work outside the home and have the same capabilities and skills than men, even in the work will make a difference. For example in the same area and the same position, generally the man’s salary wage is higher than for women.

In general, I consider that the women are more responsible than men, but this depends on the upbringing of each.

In the hospital, in my view, is more frequent to see men medical that woman, but in my career, midwifery, this is in contrast, the woman are about 80 and the men are only about 10 or 12. I think that in my career no matter male or female, because everyone, according to the professional and personal development we are able to meet our goals as health professionals. But in my opinion, this could be a little uncomfortable for women who are serving, because it might be uncomfortable for them that a strange man to see.

I hope that today there are differences between men and women in some jobs will disappear with time.
